Australian Ethical Investment’s chairman Steve Gibbs said Monaghan’s position would further the company’s mission and was effective from last week.

Commenting on his own appointment Monaghan said: “It will be a pleasure to work with a company with such a strong sense of purpose that clearly resonates with its customers.”

“Australian Ethical is on a strong growth trajectory, and I look forward to working with the team to continue this growth,” he added.

In other appointment news Jim Cielinski is now global head of fixed income at Janus Henderson Investors.

Based in the firm’s London headquarters, Cielinski will join the firm on November 1 and will oversee its development and investment growth in the fixed income team.

“Jim brings a wealth of experience managing fixed income investment teams and I am excited to work alongside such an accomplished investment professional,” Janus Henderson global chief investment officer Enrique Chang said.

“The addition of Jim is a testament to Janus Henderson’s ability to attract a strong team of global investment professionals committed to delivering superior risk-adjusted returns for clients.”

Cielinski joins the Janus Henderson team from his most recent role as global head of fixed income at Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he was in charge of worldwide fixed income. He brings more than 30 years of investment management experience to the role.
