IOOF has promoted its senior technical services manager Martin Breckon to head of technical services following his predecessor Kate Anderson’s move to IOOF-owned dealer group Bridges Financial Services.

Breckon has over 20 years’ experience in technical advice services and has been with IOOF for five years, having previously served in technical management roles at Axa, Aviva and MLC.

Commenting on Breckon’s promotion, IOOF group general manager for wealth management Renato Mota said it reflected the importance of succession planning and mentoring to the development of IOOF’s advice business.

“Martin is highly capable, extremely knowledgeable and has an expert understanding of best practice provision of financial services advice and strategies. He is highly respected by licensees, advisers and his peers across the broader industry,” Mota said.

“IOOF’s technical services team is an industry leader, widely acknowledged for its superior understanding and insights into the constantly changing financial services environment.

“I am confident Martin will ably lead the techconnect team and continue to keep IOOF and our advice network at the forefront of industry developments.”

Breckon‘s appointment, which IOOF confirmed was effective immediately, followed Anderson’s promotion to Bridges in December 2016 as head of business support.

In her new role, Anderson is responsible for managing technical teams and providing information and strategies on financial planning issues for advisers within the dealer group.
