PractiFI and Midwinter have announced a software partnership that is set to streamline the financial planning advice process, with the integration intended to provide users with access to data from both programs.

Through both systems’ application programming interfaces (API), PractiFI, the business management platform for financial services, will integrate with AdviceOS, Midwinter’s financial planning software.

Midwinter said the partnership was a result of increasing adviser demand for industry-specific client relationship management (CRM), which PractiFI offers with its Salesforce-based platform.

The amalgamation synchronises client details between PractiFI and AdviceOS, removing duplicate data entry and the risk of error.

Midwinter managing director Julian Plummer said Midwinter was a supporter of open architecture software, believing advisers needed software systems that were on the same page.

“We continue to be the financial planning software provider with the broadest choice of API partners in the market, giving our clients genuine choice,” Plummer said.

"By integrating with PractiFI we have opened up the options further to include a world-class CRM that speaks to our own state-of-the-art modelling tools with ease.”

The product also allowed advisers and paraplanners to launch AdviceOS from a single client view in PractiFI, Midwinter said.

Plummer said the integration was initially undertaken specifically for several major licensees and the firm anticipated more financial planning practices would follow suit.

PractiFI chief executive Glen Elliott said the Midwinter partnership delivered on a core PractiFI objective to bring efficiency gains to advice businesses.
