Software firm KnowIT Group has announced three new roles to enhance its technical expertise, management capabilities and content production, following its acquisition of Strategy Steps in October.

Industry consultant and former Chartered Accountants head of superannuation Tony Negline has been appointed technical director, bringing almost 30 years of experience in financial services to the role, including a range of senior executive positions.

Kevin Conlon, a current managing partner of business coaching firm Active Knowledge and a former chief executive of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, will take up the role of head of continuing professional development.

Meanwhile, media veteran Jacquie Hayes, a Fairfax Media columnist and former personal finance editor at The Australian, will manage content strategy.

These latest appointments, which bring the team to seven, aim to increase the relevance and reach of Desk Caddie, the firm’s online adviser strategy tool, which was acquired as part of the Strategy Steps transaction.

“The appointment of senior technical, content and professional development executives brings a high level of expertise to KnowIT Group and its Desk Caddie online tool offering,” KnowIT Group chief executive Wayne Wilson said.

“With the addition of the new executive team, KnowIT Group is maintaining the experience, knowledge and ability needed to provide the high levels of strategic analysis Desk Caddie clients have come to expect,” he said.

“Tony’s ability to deliver sophisticated legislative and technical information, knowledge and research, combined with Jacquie’s expertise in financial writing and Kevin’s capabilities in developing CPD programs are part of the ongoing strategy to redevelop the relevance and reach of Desk Caddie.”
